Thomas Lee Bauman
1938 - 2011

Thomas Lee Bauman age 73 went home to be with his Lord Friday December 16, 2011 at his home in Greenville.

He was born in Greenville the youngest son of Bert and Lovina Eckert Bauman on December 4, 1938. His parents, brothers Dan, Stanley and Earl and his sisters Dorothy and Irene and granddaughter Melanie all preceded him in death.

Tom graduated from Greenville High School in 1958. He married Arlene Kunz September 17, 1960 and worked factory jobs and managed Admiral gas station before realizing his talent for repairing gas engines and appliances. He worked for Gambles of Greenville and Marr's Electronics in Belding before starting his own company, Tom's Appliance Service, which was a rewarding 30 year career up to his retirement. He did service work for Frigidaire and Larry's Northtown Furniture. He also built his own house from a kit and had for hobbies; carpentry, motorcycle riding, reading, and his dog Sylvia, traveling to favorite places, Disney World, Mackinac, Frankenmuth, Shipshiwana, writing poetry, camping and remodeling. He was always willing to help and is loved by many and will be missed by all.

Tom was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife Arlene, his children; Pam Bauman of Wheeler, Tim (Karen) Bauman of Eastpointe and Tammy Clevenger of Fairhope, Alabama, his grandchildren; Matthew (Peggy) Conley, Andrea (Rickey) McDiarmid, Eric Phoenix, Aaron Bauman, Ashley Clevenger, Brandi Clevenger, Calvin Moffett, Jacob Bauman and great grandchildren, Haylee, Gracie and Max. Also surviving are his sister Janet (Don) Walston of Thompsonville and brother Robert (Arlene) Bauman of Clare and sisters-in-law, Louise (Dale) Varney, Connie (Wally) Harris both of Greenville and Debbie Rich of Sidney and nieces and nephews.

Funeral and committal services will be held on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 1 PM from the Hurst Funeral Home with burial in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville. Rev. R. Mark Shaw of Calvary Baptist Church will serve as officiant. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Calvary Baptist Church.
